Our EUP (English for University
Purposes) program is an academic program that allows students to
move directly into the university program without a TOEFL score.
Every student receives a laptop computer for use in their school
work. Weekly, students study Speaking and Listening skills for the
first half of the day and Reading and Writing in the second half.
Our daily one hour Focus class is customized based on student
needs. On Friday students participate in field trips and
activities designed with an East Coast Canadian flavour.
Wolfville is a safe, beautiful, friendly town one hour from
Halifax. The University offers many activities and facilities for
students, including a well equipped sports facility and swimming
pool, and music and drama opportunities.

English Language Centre, Lethbridge Community College |
Established in 1957, Lethbridge
Community College was Canada's first public community college.
Today it has grown to a modern educational centre of over 6,000
students. The College is home to acclaimed sports teams and
award-winning instructors, and boasts a recreation complex,
playing fields, library and media centre, cafeteria and dining
room, bookstore, counselling services, and computer laboratories
throughout the complex. International students can begin their
studies in the English Language Centre and continue in any of 75

The College is located on a 57-hectare campus overlooking the
Oldman River and the Rocky Mountains to the west. Lethbridge has a
population of over 70,000, and is the service centre of Southern
Alberta. It can be reached by air, from Calgary, Alberta to the
Lethbridge Airport, or by car or a bus, a two-hour drive south
from Calgary. Lethbridge has all the amenities of a much larger
city, including several shopping malls, live theatre, symphony
orchestra, and nightclubs. Westerly winds called chinooks create
warm summers and mild winters, so the climate is temperate by

The English Language Centre has offered English as a second
language (ESL) training for over 30 years. Students 18 years of
age and over can study for a full or partial semester throughout
the year. The Centre provides a warm family environment to
students from all over the globe. ESL instructors are highly
qualified and experienced, and work to provide personalized
language training to all students.
International students have two options for accommodations:
homestay or College residence. The host family experience is an
important part of learning a language. Living with a host family
gives the student an opportunity to practice English and to learn
about Canadian culture. Students can also choose to live in
College Residence and share a suite with other College students.
Since 1991, The English Language Centre has provided year-round
English language training to international groups. Several

With a weekly intake, our Conversation
Club concentrates on vocabulary and pronunciation skills in the
mornings and then develops conversation skills in the afternoons.
KTC Prime Certificate Program is our grammar-based curriculum with

selection of University Transfer courses of any public institution

Malaspina University-College,
established in 1969, is a fully-accredited, government-funded
institution, offering Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

the beginning of September, January and May. Malaspina enrolls
10,000 students at its main campus in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Malaspina also delivers a six-level English as a Second Language
certificate program; a short-term summer ESL program; and a summer
intensive TESL English teaching certificate program.
All students study in small classes taught by experienced and
highly qualified instructors. The tuition and living expenses are
very affordable. The campus has a well-equipped library, new
Centre for International Education building, computer and science
laboratories, a gymnasium, cafeteria and art gallery. Support
services for international students include advising, orientation,
accommodation and arranged social and sports activities.
Malaspina International High School, located on the Nanaimo
campus, offers Grades 10, 11 and 12 of the British Columbia High
School Diploma. Class size average is 12 students. To give
students a firm foundation for achieving their future educational
and career goals academic excellence is stressed. Students may
enter in September, November, February, April and July. Students
aged 14 to 17 may also attend the July/August program to study ESL
and participate in cultural and recreation activities. Graduates
from the High School are accepted directly into Malaspina
University-College programs.
The Nanaimo region, has 135,000 people, is located on the scenic
east coast of Vancouver Island close to major metropolitan centres
like Vancouver and Victoria. A new passenger ferry service (Harbourlynx)
from the Sea Bus terminal in downtown Vancouver to downtown
Nanaimo, now makes the 80 minute trip to Vancouver much more
convenient. The area's mild climate allows for a variety of summer
and winter recreational activities. Nanaimo is a supportive and
friend community and local families eagerly participate in the Malaspina Homestay Program. This program provides students an

communities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach, both small towns on
